it we find the mystical revelation of the essence of this Nur Mohammadiyya
and the central pillar of Quranic ascension mysticism.
God is the light of the heavens and earth,
The light like the light of a lamp in a niche
The lamp enclosed in a cover of glass
The glass like a glistening star
Kindled from the oil of a blessed tree
An olive not of the East not of the West
Its oil glows forth nearly without the touch of fire
Light on light God guides to his light whomsoever he wills
Allah strikes symbols for humankind
Allah in all things is most knowing
God is the light of the heavens and earth, Allah is Light and has created everything out of Light. Not only the light
we perceive in the physical world but the light we perceive spiritually which
supports all creation itself. When this light starts shining upon the regions of
the heart, the lamp of the heart will be lit. This light has a special quality or
effect and when ignited in the regions of the heart provides the spiritual
impetus to return to God.
The light like the light of a lamp in a niche This light has been placed in the heart of each being just like a light which
has been placed in a lamp which has been covered by a glass. It needs only a
touch of a saint to be lit or awakened.
The lamp enclosed in a cover of glass The glass like a glistening star
Is like a light within the heart which shines like a glistening star in the
middle of the night illuminating the darkness of the heart in all directions.
As the darkness is dispelled in the heart it now begins to radiate outwardly
with this First light. Since this light is...
Kindled from the oil of a blessed tree
It shines within the deepest recesses of the heart with such purity that
unleashes the lightning of divine discoveries. This lightening will generate
the thunderclouds of meaning, from

And shedding light upon the tree of discovery, so pure, so transparent

Nothing can compare to the experience of this divine luminosity which
defies rationale description, explanation and is at once an answer to the cry
of the soul within every being who comes into this world.
Light on light God guides to his light whomsoever he wills
As He who is All Light reaches down to touch our light with His light we
are divinely attracted back to our source which is the pre eternal light, first
Light, Divine Essence the Nur Mohammadiyya, through which…
Allah strikes symbols for humankind
Whose Prophets and saints are his signs or symbols which give faith,
direction and certitude and ultimately mediate our return to our original
Face, about which it is said "and to Him we are returning"…and
Allah in all things is most knowing.
God's wisdom is unlimited beyond comprehension apprehension or
explanation and the only path is to submit to the will of the almighty. It is
God who is the pre-eternal source of light, manifesting the being of the
Prophet out of this Light and then casting a light into those souls he seeks to
guide back to Him.
The Prophet reiterates this same thought, "God Most High created men in
darkness, then sprinkled on them some of His light."
God in his perfect wisdom created his saints from this same light who are his
living symbols ("strikes symbols") of his power and glory in this world.
Each of them has the obligation of knowing his Lord by coming fully into
the Light of Lights. We can then say it is only through these polarized Lights
of God his saints and Prophets that souls can return to God. Who then is the
true Shaykh? Rumi tells us, "The Perfect Shaykh is the absolute Light of
God,"

11th September 2001: A Response from Love

*They reached for their mobile phones and called their beloved, to say
simply, “I love you”. No anger, incomprehension or blame at what was taking
place. Only Love and the urgency of declaring it; because on this threshold
there is only life, death and Love.*
*About the events of 11th September all are convinced of one thing: that the
world is no longer the same place as it was. Many apparent certainties,
yardsticks and parameters have been removed at a stroke. It is now ours to
determine whether that day becomes for us a day of grief, the tombstone of
our certainties; or a day of unveiling, opening up a far greater possibility
for Mankind, of consciously stepping into the service of Love.*
*This is a new era and it is in this context that these multiple tragedies
are to be viewed with largeness and clarity. In this new chapter in our
evolution we are being shifted in our awareness of Reality and our
relationship to It. 11th September 2001 was the day when the world woke up
to the fact that this new chapter has already begun. At the same time, what
this episode contains is not pre-fixed: it is in the making, at this moment,
in the form of the choices that each person has to make.*
*These choices are reducible to a single choice from which no one can be
excused; it is unavoidable. It is not a choice simply to be made by our
elected leaders, because the playing field of this choice is not the global,
geopolitical arena of exterior action. The real ground of choice is our own
soul. We now have to choose to accept to become what and who we really are; or to refuse to change, to deny the grandeur of our reality. To stay the
same is to remain with one’s own self idea, based upon otherness and
separation, pride and fear; whereas to accept the change is to agree to be
moved to an unlimited perspective founded upon Oneness of Existence and the unity of human consciousness. In this unity is to be found the reason why
the choice of each person is of ultimate importance.*
*The opportunity offered to each of us is to be of service to Reality, to be
of service to the Love that is the expressive movement of One Existence.
Bulent Rauf, Consultant to the Beshara School from 1975-87, said, “real
service is without the self being self-indulgent in serving people. It has
to be completely without the mixation of the person into the service
rendered. There was an example we used to use: if you find, in a very bad
situation, a friend who needs a glass of water and you give him a glass of
water, that’s not service; that is friendship. But if your enemy is on the
ground and begs for a glass of water, and even before he begs, you give him
a glass of water: that is service.”*
*Service is non-partisan and it makes no distinction between sectors and
sections of humanity. Only such impartial service can adequately serve the
unqualified Love of the Real and become Its heart, hands and feet here in
this world. The Reality of Love is that there is only one need: the need for
Oneness. When this is realised, we will all see the requirement to rebuild
shattered ruins, re-house refugees and to love one’s enemy as oneself. As
things are now, we are divided by our differences. Now is for building the
bridges that will bring all humanity together under the banner of Universal
Love. How can this come about? For Love it is not a difficult matter.*
*Many of those about to die in the multiple tragedies of 11th September were
brought by those events to this immediate threshold of clear perception. On
this doorstep, with no time for thought, was the certainty that they had
only a few minutes to live; that these minutes had to be used wisely and
exclusively for that which was truly essential. They reached for their
mobile phones and called their beloved, to say simply, “I love you”. No
anger, incomprehension or blame at what was taking place. Only Love and the urgency of declaring it; because on this threshold there is only life, death
and Love. To die truly is to be stripped of irrelevancies and falsehood and
to enter into our still centre with only that which belongs to it:
affirmation and Love.*
*Death is a change of state, from this relative condition of existence that
we call life into a state of delimited consciousness and which is the
presence of Absolute Love. It is the Interior of everything and is with us
always. It is our own interior, which was present before we were born and
will be there when we die. It is the reality of our existence to which, if
we are most blessed, we will awaken before we die; if not, when we die, when we cross over the doorstep into unconditioned Welcome.*
*Until we wake up to the Reality of Who, What and Where we are, it is for us
to practise staying on the doorstep, as if we were about to die. Here there
is only Love and Its affirmation; where all else, if there is anything else,
is of very little consequence. There is no necessity of going back to
‘normal’ after these events. There is on the contrary the total requirement
of stepping into service, towards the realisation of the Presence of
Absolute Love, which even now holds all in Its own Being. This is the
possibility for Mankind, which is offered to us now.*

New York, NY - Iconic Bauhaus main man PETER MURPHY makes a central cameo appearance as ‘The Cold One’ in Eclipse, the most recent installment of the Twilight series. Eclipse debuts June 30 in the U.S. and July 1 in the UK, where Murphy will be walking the red carpet at the London premiere in Leicester Square at the Odeon Theatre (accompanied by his daughter, Hurihan).
Murphy’s last film appearance was in 1983 when Bauhaus performed “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” in the opening credit sequence of Tony Scott’s vampire thriller The Hungerstarring David Bowie, Catherine De Neuve and Susan Sarandon.
As a bookend to the now-infamous “Bela” performance, Peter felt that a cameo in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was too good to turn down. “Who else could have and should have done it?” he laughs. “It was really lovely and smart of David Slade to ask me…I was honored, actually.”
Murphy’s cinematic role marks the commencement of an eventful rest of the year for the artist, who launches his worldwide “Dirty Dirt Tour” in late July, and is adding the finishing touches to his new studio album NINTH, due in the Fall. Currently living between Istanbul and New York City, the famed post-punk innovator, sonic alchemist and celebrated founding father of the Gothic movement, has been working on several exciting new projects over the past 2 years, most importantly his long-awaited ninth studio album aptly-titled, Ninth. Produced by David Baron, the set follows: 2004’s Unshattered, Dust (2002), A Live Just For Love (live album) (2001), Wild Birds: 1985-1995 (compilation) (2000), Recall EP (1997), Cascade (1995), Holy Smoke (1992), commercial breakthrough Deep (1990), the seminal Love Hysteria (1988) and the 1986 solo debut, Should the World Fail to Fall Apart.
“I have had my Ninth album ready to go for a while now,” Peter explains. “I’ve been playing it live, alongside Bauhaus classics and my own hits, long before the official release and it’s added more stardust to the long shelf life of songs I have under my belt.”
Most recently, Peter ignited a new generation of fans while appearing with Trent Reznor during his 2009 final Nine Inch Nails tour. Famously descending on a chain from the rafters upside down (like the theatrical genius he is) at New York’s Terminal 5, Peter joined Reznor and his band to perform The Downward Spiral favorite "Reptile,” along with Murphy’s "Strange Kind Of Love," Bauhaus' "Kick in the Eye," Joy Division’s “Atmosphere” and Pere Ubu's "Final Solution." Murphy’s cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt” has also been a recent staple of live sets.
